1 – An After Dinner Speech: "The 20 Minute Post Prandial”

Actor and wine buff Julian Curry recently impressed fellow diners by rising effortlessly to his feet at the end of a truly magnificent dinner. His sprightliness and apparent sobriety had them scratching their pates in astonishment. As coffee was served he entertained the company with 20 minutes of scintillating Wit and Wisdom from the World of Wine.

His discourse was liberally laced with theatrical anecdotage, and punctuated by frequent woofers. (Showbiz term denoting audience rolling in aisles).

2 – The Booze Quiz.

A chance for diners to test their wine knowledge, and pit their wits against an expert in a highly original, light-hearted Booze Quiz. Contestants tussle with thorny questions ranging from Can you name the fruit from which wine is made? to What famous drink is made in the town of Condom? to After which champagne house did Winston Churchill name his racehorse?

Questions are part written, part oral, and may include a Wine Tasting. (You will learn, in future, to take the purple prose on a wine bottle’s back label with a large pinch of salt). The quizmaster’s decision is final, and may very well be biased. Utter pandemonium is the likely outcome.
